Ethiopia Febuary 2010

The first step of the Path for HOPE – February 2010
Contributed by Dr Jude Currivan

The first step of the Path for HOPE was the journey to Ethiopia in early February 2010, a country renowned as the cradle of humanity. It was here that 4.4 million years ago, the oldest upright walking hominids yet discovered, lived.

Ethiopia It was fitting we began the Path of HOPE here – and synchronistically perfect too because the trip was arranged six months before the discovery of the first of these ancient ancestors called Ardi was reported in October 2009.

Ardi and her kin lived on the Great Rift Valley that cuts through Africa and then runs up right up through the Middle East. So from the beginning, humanity’s cradle was energetically ‘rifted’.

SDC11042Modern humans, that geneticists showed last year also emerged from this part of Africa to journey, between 70,000 and 90,000 years ago across the narrow strait that joins Africa to the Arabian peninsula, to then populate Europe, Asia and the Americas – a strait known in Arabic as the Gate of Tears.

SDC10855Energetically our birth on the Rift Valley and our migration through the Gate of Tears now can be healed: the Rift can be a Re-birth and the Gate of Tears transformed to a rainbow bridge of HOPE.

Our group, together with many others from around the world who joined us in Spirit attuned with Ardi and her later descendant Lucy – only 3.2 million years ago - in Addis Adaba, the capital of Ethiopia on Sunday 31st January at 3.00pm local time. Our aim was to energetically attune in the Universal Heart with her and all our ancestors, to return to the seed-point of our human origins and to intend and envisage that the rifts that have emanated from those beginnings to be open to healing and release.

The Rift Valley also reflects on Earth the dark axis of dust, called by the Mayans the ‘black road – or road of re-birth’ that reaches across our Milky Way galaxy and which the Sun, aligned with the galactic centre is crossing as we approach 2012.

SDC10824Energetically the birth of humanity on the Rift Valley and our migration through the Gate of Tears now can be healed. As the Shift aligns us with galactic consciousness, the Rift on Earth can be a Re-birth and the Gate of Tears transformed to a rainbow bridge of HOPE.

Further experiences during that journey showed us that the key to transforming the rift into a re-birth is our inclusion and healing of all the polarized perceptions that we have personally and collectively held for so long. The judgements that arise from such polarization have separated ‘me’ from ‘you’ and ‘us’ from ‘them’ where differences have been feared and excluded rather than  celebrated and included. And as we continue to explore this healing of polarizations we understand that to do so in the unconditional love of the Universal Heart of the 8th chakra forms the causal basis of the re-soulution of the remaining conflicts in all their  around the world.

Three of our experiences during our amazing journey to Ethiopia in particular showed us this:

The first was when we visited the ancient Seilassie church near the town of Gondar, dedicated to the Holy Trinity. As we entered, I took a seat at the side as our local guide began to describe how on the church walls  the story is shown of the ’99 angels and the fallen angel Lucifer.’ I half heard him as he then continued to point out the bible stories depicted on the walls, and looking up to my right saw high above me and almost hidden in shadow a beautiful fresco of Mary looking down with a lovingly serene radiance. Then as my gaze was drawn to the wall opposite, I saw a human sized portrayal of Lucifer shown to be a frightening as possible.

SDC11198I suddenly felt a profound compassion for Lucifer – whose name means ‘light bringer’ and who it is said had been the highest of the angelic realm. I felt the profound courage at the soul level for such a being to enter the shadow, to  consciously explore its polarization – and perhaps ultimately to lead the way back into the transcendance of such perceived polarities. And deep within myself, I felt the judgement and outcasting of that luciferic spark which those who did not ‘fall’ had in some sense made – and then a profound sense of the hope for a possible reconcilation.

After the guide had finished, our group came into a circle and I explained what I had felt and suggested we might choose to be in the Universal Heart and welcome back the ‘100th angel’ within ourselves. Everyone enthuisiatically agreed and our attunement was wonderfully powerful.

SDC11713As I walked outside a little later, one of the group rushed up to me and asked me to follow her. Entering the small circle gathered round it, I came upon an incredible sight. On the ground a few yards away was a young and clearly damaged vulture – another outcast!

As we all opened our hearts to him, the dying vulture allowed me to walk up to and hold him and even for us to get some water to him that he was able to drink. Finally he allowed us to carry him into the shade of a nearby tree. We asked the priest nearby to watch over him as he passed. And before we needed to move on, we envisaged him flying freely and liberated in all his glory – another angel journeying home.

SDC10916Later, right at the end of our journey we spent our last night at Harar and had the extraordinary opportunity not only to be close to but actually to feed wild hyenas – on a short stick from our outstretched hands!

Hyenas too are generally perceived as outcasts; yet they take on an indispensible service. In Harar, each night they enter the town whilst it sleeps and eat the edible trash that litters the streets. For many years, the so-called hyena man, meets them as night falls and feeds them. His acceptance of them and them of him meant that as strangers accepting them, we were also accepted by them. Without fighting or snarling, they took food from us before sloping off into the darkness to continue their nightly clean up of the town.

SDC11033bThis sense of re-membering and re-soulving into our personal and collective psyche of all those we have outcast – and the outcasted aspects of ourselves -  feels fundamental as the basis for healing the schsims within and between us and for the transcendance of our polarity-based awareness. We cannot however do this, I feel, from the level of our personality, where such traumas are energetically held, but only from the transpersonal and unconditionally loving Universal Heart.

SDC11689Every time we choose to be loving, kind, forgiving, non-judgemental – but still and importantly discerning of what feels right or wrong we each take another step into the Universal Heart and into the unity awareness that is our divine reality – we take another step along the Path for HOPE
